Monday Misadventure in 1335 Mabini

Monday, August 8, 2016

Okay so imagine this: waiting for the rain to stop with your good friend at a local bakeshop after eating lunch in the early afternoon. The rain was non-stop although it was not pouring so hard; it was a light drizzle that just didn't seem to stop. Then when 2 o'clock came, we headed out regardless if it was drizzling or not. I'm a woman of my words; if I say I'll do something, I will surely do it. It pains me not to. And so we headed out and went around the streets of Pedro Gil and Mabini, then chanced upon an old house filled with tribal art and antique furniture.

T'was empty except for some people who were fixing some of the furniture.

Weaved baskets and anino statues surrounded this room.

Hanging sculptures of different bird species

More sculptures.

There was supposed to be a new installation of paintings of some sorts, but it was Monday and it was only open for viewing from Tuesdays to Saturdays. Mondays and Wednesdays were are only free days, and I've already scheduled some things for Wednesday.

It was a misadventure of some sorts, but surely it was one that I oddly enjoyed.
